Paladar Tequila Reposado - Finished in Tempranillo
About Our Paladar Tequila Reposado – Sauternes Cask
From the last of the independent founding families of tequila, Paladar Tequila is a homage to the traditions of Mexico. We harvest 7-year Blue Weber agave from our own fields, slow-cooked in brick ovens and fermented in open-air pine boxes using wild and proprietary yeast. Each batch is twice distilled in a copper and stainless steel pot blend, building a foundation of clarity, texture, and expressive agave character.
This Reposado expression is first aged in oak, then finished in Sauternes wine casks. These barrels—previously home to one of France’s most revered sweet wines—introduce soft layers of honeyed fruit, stone fruit, and gentle spice. The sweetness remains subtle and integrated, adding roundness and elegance while allowing agave to remain the focal point. Each bottle is finished by hand and dipped in the volcanic soil of our agave fields.
About Sauternes Casks
Sauternes is a renowned sweet wine from Bordeaux, produced from grapes affected by noble rot, which concentrates sugars and aromatics. When used for finishing tequila, Sauternes casks lend delicate notes of honey, apricot, and warm spice, enhancing texture and depth without overwhelming the spirit.
